Hey Parent / Guardian, we’re KC! We’re delighted that your student is thinking of joining us at Kidderminster College. We are a small college located in the heart of Kidderminster. We specialise in Vocational courses for 16-18 year-olds, however, we have part-time, recreational and HND courses available.

We want to make the transition from school to college as smooth as possible for both our students and parents. Take a look around this page to gain an understanding of what we do here at KC and what happens after your student has applied with us.

What qualifications does my child need?

Each level and course has different entry requirements. To see specific entry requirements head to our course pages.

What do I do if my child doesn't know what they want to do when they've left school?

That’s okay! We have a dedicated Careers team that can provide impartial advice. Email admissions@kidderminster.ac.uk to book a careers appointment. Or head to our open evenings to check out the courses we have on offer.

My child would like to withdraw their place with you

Send us an email admissions@kidderminster.ac.uk to withdraw their application

When is enrolment?

We will enrol students during the summer months after this your child will be inducted onto their course and start their KC journey.

Will my child be entitled to any extra funding?

If you have a household income of less than £30,000, you may be eligible for financial assistance towards some of the costs associated with your course. Contact Studentservices@kidderminster.ac.uk for more info.

What happens if my child doesn't get the results they need?

That’s okay! Ask your child to come along to enrolment as planned with their exam results, they then can have a chat with the tutor. No matter their results we’ve got them covered.

My child's accepted their place, what happens next?

They will be sent an info pack and receive regular newsletters on email.

Is there disabled access in the college?

Yes, we have automatic doors, lifts and wide doorways.

Will there be additional funding for travel?

We do have funding available for travel, please contact student services on studentservices@kidderminster.ac.uk, they will be happy to help.

Where do I find info on Uniforms and Kit list?

Your child would have been informed at the interview if their course requires them to purchase or bring with them any resources; if so, the information and forms can be found at
www.kidderminster.ac.uk/kit

Please look carefully at the instructions as you may need to order from a third party supplier.

Will my child be entitled to free school meals?

You’re child may be entitled to a free meal for the days they are timetabled to be in college. To find out if you are eligible, please contact Student Services or discuss with your adviser at your assessment appointment.

When will we receive student timetables?

You will receive these either during induction or the start of term.
