More about the course
Ready to push yourself and aim high? By the end of this two-year Uniformed Services Level 3 course, you’ll have a real understanding of what it takes to succeed in the public services. You’ll develop confidence, discipline, and key skills through subjects like leadership, coaching, teamwork between services, and drill - all designed to prepare you for the realities of uniformed service life.
This course goes beyond the classroom. You’ll take part in challenging, hands-on experiences including residential trips that build resilience and leadership, meeting guest speakers from the Army, Navy, and Police, and attending recruitment events that give you first-hand insight into the role. You’ll also develop the fitness, mindset, and personal commitment needed to meet the demands of a public service career.
As a student on this course, you’ll also take on real responsibility. You will represent the college at official events, take part in Remembrance activities to show respect and appreciation for those who have served, and receive training to assist Fire Marshals during emergency procedures. These experiences help build a strong sense of belonging, pride, and professionalism - qualities expected of anyone wearing a uniform.
Alongside your main programme, you’ll have the option to complete a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, giving you a major advantage. This extra qualification helps you develop fitness knowledge, coaching skills, and confidence in leading physical training - all highly valued in the Armed Forces, Police, and other emergency services.
This course is more than a qualification - it’s a steppingstone into your future. Whether you move into employment or continue your studies, you’ll leave prepared, confident, and one step closer to meeting the entry requirements for the uniformed service you’re proud to aim for.
