Learning Support

Here at Kidderminster College, we support and encourage our students in a friendly, professional, and confident manner, which is our top priority.

At Kidderminster College, our objective is to nurture independence in learning, life and support as you strive to achieve your career aspirations and future goals. Collaborating with tutors, Career Coaches, the Safeguarding team, and other essential staff, we ensure comprehensive support for students with special educational requirements. We encourage you to seek additional assistance throughout your study program if you believe it would enhance your learning experience.

Additional Learning Support

We have specialist staff on hand to provide help and support to students with a wide range of needs and disabilities, including:

  •  Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Hearing or visual impairment
  • ADHD
  • Medical conditions
  • Auditory processing difficulties
  • Mental health difficulties
  • Dyslexia
  • Difficulties with mobility
  • Dyspraxia
  • Reading, writing or numeracy needs
  • Dyscalculia
  • Assignment support

We identify your learning needs, whether you need techniques to manage your dyslexia, help in organising your workload and meeting deadlines or support in achieving your grade goals; we organise appropriate support and review this regularly to ensure your needs are constantly being met. We work closely with you each step of the way to make sure your personal strategy suits you and helps you achieve your ambitions.

Our Learning Support team can also arrange for exam access arrangements to be put in place for you, e.g. extra time, a reader, scribe, use of a PC/Laptop, a separate room, rest breaks, and a prompt to help you keep focused. This will depend on the assessment results.
