Volunteers Fair at Kidderminster College – A Huge Success for Community Engagement!
Kidderminster College was proud to host a fantastic Volunteers Fair in partnership with Wyre Forest District Council, bringing together local charities, organisations, and community members. The event provided an invaluable opportunity for students and the public to explore volunteering roles and discover the benefits of giving back. Over 20 local charities and voluntary groups attended the event and promoted volunteer opportunities within their organisation.
With over 200 members of the public and students attending, the fair was buzzing with enthusiasm as representatives from various organisations shared their experiences, advice, and opportunities to get involved.
The event allowed our students to develop a greater awareness of career paths within different organisations across the voluntary sector, increase confidence in engaging with employers, and gain an understanding of the importance of volunteering in their career journeys. One of the students said: "It was great; I had a lot to think about."
Exhibitors were equally impressed, with many calling it the best fair they have attended, highlighting how beneficial it was for networking and engagement with potential volunteers.
A particular highlight of the fair was seeing a handful of Kidderminster College students sign up to volunteer, showing how impactful the event was in inspiring action.
The Volunteers Fair is part of Kidderminster College's ongoing commitment to providing learners with enriching experiences beyond the classroom, helping them build valuable skills, grow their confidence, and contribute to their local community.
A huge thank you to Wyre Forest District Council and all the organisations that attended - your support and passion made this event a success!
