Enrolment is the process that officially confirms your place at college. During enrolment, you’ll confirm the course you’re taking and its level and provide all the necessary information we need to enrol you. Once you’ve completed this process, you’ll be officially enrolled as a college student.

Enrolment will take place in person at our Market Street Campus.

When you visit us at enrolment, you will be greeted by our reception staff who will explain the next steps.

This includes:

• Step 1 - Enrolment paperwork filled out
• Step 2 - Checking results
• Step 3 - English and Maths checks
• Step 4 - ID Photo taken
• Step 5 - Enrolment processing

We aim to make the enrolment process as smooth and efficient as possible. However, please be aware that it may take some time to complete, as the College is legally required to collect accurate information to support your transition into college life. To help things run smoothly, please allow yourself approximately three hours to complete your enrolment.

Yes, you may bring someone with you to enrolment.

If you miss your enrolment slot, please email admissions@kidderminster.ac.uk so we can arrange a suitable time for you to come in and enrol.

If you are unsure about your course choice, you can speak to our careers advisor who will be able to give you guidance on the options available to you.

Yes, your tutor will be in attendance so they will be able to answer any questions that you may have.

You can apply through our website for your chosen course and you will then be sent an email regarding enrolment if you are offered a place.

If you are a progressing learner (Staying in the same course area), you will need to discuss this with your tutor so they can make sure you are enrolled.

If you are changing course areas, you will need to apply for your chosen course and then book an enrolment slot.

Your timetable will be provided to you either at enrolment or on your first day.

The car park that is outside of the college is not owned or run by the college so you will need to pay if you choose to park outside the college.

When you enrol on a course at Kidderminster College, you’ll need to provide proof of identity and, in some cases, evidence of your right to live and study in the UK. You’ll also be asked to provide a range of information, including your contact details and address details, evidence of any qualifications you’ve achieved, and the contact details of your next of kin.

At enrolment you are required to provide:

Valid ID which confirms your address and date of birth. Valid ID includes:

• Birth certificate
• Passport
• Full or provisional driving licence

Original copies of existing qualifications, as well as the ones you have just achieved and/or statement of results.

Your national insurance number (if known)

Contact details of your next of kin – A next of kin is a relative or carer/guardian you have the closest relationship with. If you are aged under 18, this information will be used to request consent for any trips you may go on as part of your college course.

If you are aged 19+ you will need to provide the means to pay for your course or proof of evidence to waive fees. For example, a current benefits letters, or Adult Learner Loan application if you plan to study at Level 3.

The College is legally required to confirm evidence of your visa/immigration status. If you are not a British or Irish national please bring proof of your immigration status which should include your eVisa share code OR if necessary, in date physical original immigration documents (Visa vignette in passport, stamp in passport, Biometric Resident Permits, Bail 201 letter or Application Registration Card)

Please bring with you:  

• eVisa share code - if you can view your immigration status online using your United Kingdom Visas and Immigration account, you can use the Gov.uk website to obtain a share code. We can use the code provided to check your status. Your share code will be 9 digits and consist of letters and numbers.

If you can’t get a share code, you can bring your physical original immigration documents if they are still valid (i.e. they have not expired).

This can include one of the following:

Visa vignette in passport - a visa vignette is a sticker placed in your passport that shows you have been granted permission to enter the UK for a specific purpose, such as study or work.

Stamp in passport - a passport stamp is an ink mark placed in your passport by a UK Border Force officer when you arrive, showing the date and place of your entry into the country.

Biometric Residence Permit - Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) are cards that were used to prove immigration status. You might have a BRP if you were granted permission to live or work in the UK on or before 31 October 2024.

Bail 201 letter - a Bail 201 letter is an official document issued by the UK Home Office to individuals who have been granted immigration bail. Please also bring your Application Registration Card (ARC).

Please note, if you have an immigration status which is reliant on family member, e.g. dependant status, family visa, child visa, etc, you will also be required to provide the immigration documents of your family member.

If you are aged under 18, the College will request your next of kin details. This information will be used in the event of an emergency and may be used to request consent for any trips you may go on as part of your college course.

We are required to take your photograph for your student ID badge when you enrol. This will be taken during the enrolment process.

You’ll receive your ID badge and lanyard at enrolment once you have completed all the required steps at our enrolment event.

“Right to Study” means that you have immigration permission that allows study in the UK.

Kidderminster College is required by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to check that students have the correct permission to study in the UK before enrolment can be completed.

If we cannot confirm your Right to Study, we may not be able to complete your enrolment or allow you to start your course.

We need to check the nationality and status of all applicants to confirm whether a right to study check is required.

Anyone who provides evidence that they are a British or Irish national will not be subject to any further right to study checks.

Right to Study checks may apply to:

• EU/EEA nationals

• Individuals with settled or pre-settled status

• Non-UK nationals studying on a visa

You must complete your Right to Study check as part of enrolment. We recommend having your documents ready as early as possible to avoid delays.

The documents you need to provide will depend on your nationality and immigration status.

UK and Irish citizens - Valid ID showing your address and date of birth. This may include: birth certificate and National Insurance number or passport. You can use a full or provisional driving licence if you don’t have those.

If you are not a British or Irish national, please bring evidence of your immigration status. In most cases, this should include your eVisa share code.

If you cannot provide a share code, you may be able to bring your original physical immigration documents instead, as long as they are still valid. These could include an in-date visa vignette in your passport, a Biometric Residence Permit, a passport stamp, or a Bail 201 letter with an Application Registration Card.

If your immigration status depends on a family member, for example as a dependant or under a family or child visa, you will also need to provide that family member’s immigration documents.

We must check official evidence as part of our legal responsibilities.

A share code is a code you generate through the UK Government website so Kidderminster College can check your immigration status online.

As part of the Right to Study check, you will normally:

• Provide your share code, if you have one.
• Show your immigration documents for review.
• A record/copy of your evidence will be retained. You can find out more on how we collect and use your data in our NCG Learner Privacy Policy
• Complete any remaining enrolment steps once your documents have been checked.

Once your documents have been checked and accepted, we can complete your enrolment.

If you do not complete the check or cannot provide valid evidence you may not be able to enrol and your place on the course may be at risk.

This is because Kidderminster College must comply with UKVI requirements before students can study with us.
