Introduction to DIY Multi Trades

You will need to be aged 19 or older.

Week 1 - Introduction to Home Improvement – Overview of the course and introduction to key tools and materials.

Week 2 - Painting Techniques – Learn how to prepare surfaces, choose the right paint, and apply paint for a flawless finish on walls, woodwork, and ceilings.

Week 3 - Wallpapering Basics – Understand how to hang wallpaper, including measuring, cutting, and applying adhesive for a smooth and seamless result.

Week 4 - Tiling Fundamentals – Discover the process of tiling, including surface preparation, cutting tiles, applying grout, and ensuring a professional finish.

Week 5 - Plastering Techniques – Learn the basics of plastering walls, including preparing surfaces, applying plaster smoothly, and achieving a level finish.

Week 6 - Mixing and Matching Finishes – Explore how to combine painting, wallpaper, and tiling techniques for cohesive room design and a professional look.

Week 7 - Troubleshooting Common Issues – Learn how to identify and solve common challenges that can arise in home improvement projects, such as uneven surfaces or incorrect wallpaper alignment.

Week 8 - Final Project & Review – Apply all the techniques learned to a final project

By the end of the course the aim - you will have a solid foundation in essential home improvement skills, including painting, wallpapering, tiling, and plastering, and be ready to tackle your own DIY projects with confidence. Participants will receive a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the course.
