At Kidderminster College we have many full-time courses as well as a Higher Education programme to help you grow and develop your passion for Media.

Our state-of-the-art facilities, including a newly established IT suite, Apple Suite, and an art studio, are all aimed at nurturing your skills. No matter which creative path you aspire to follow, our Media courses will allow you to learn from our industry-experienced tutors, build a strong creative portfolio and gain invaluable work experience.

Joshua Prior

Tutor - Media

Joshua Prior is a local filmmaker, actor and recent graduate from the University of Worcester, where along with First Class Honours, was awarded the Robert Burley Memorial Award for New Talent in Filmmaking. Beyond his studies, Josh has had the opportunity to work on personal passion projects in film and content creation, which resulted in winning the Best UK Feature award at the Realtime International Film Festival, as well as interviews with Worcester University’s Press Office and BBC Hereford & Worcester. Mostly working as an assistant director, Josh has gained experience in managing film sets, facilitating the best environment for creatives to thrive. He aims provide the same experience for his students.

Creative Media

The thing I enjoy most about studying Creative Media is the freedom to tailor projects around my own interests and ideas. Throughout the course, I have developed valuable skills in independent working, research and creative problem solving, while also taking part in a range of events that showcase the strengths of different course areas across the college. For anyone considering a career in media, I would recommend finding the area you enjoy most and building your skills and experience around it.

Creative Media

What I enjoy most about Creative Media Production is the variety of projects we get involved in. From creating short films and producing podcasts to capturing photography for different departments, every project brings something new. I have particularly enjoyed working alongside other creative students and developing my project management and leadership skills. The course has also given me hands on experience with professional camera, sound and lighting equipment. Media offers so many different career paths, so my advice would be to explore as many as possible and find the one that suits you best.

One of the things I have enjoyed most about studying Creative Media at Kidderminster College is having access to Adobe Creative Cloud and industry standard equipment. The course has given me the opportunity to develop my creativity while gaining valuable experience in content creation, editing, camera work and marketing. These skills helped me secure an apprenticeship and gave me a strong foundation for my future career. My advice to anyone considering media is to try different areas, find what you enjoy most and focus on becoming really skilled in that specialism.
