Rebecca Bytheway

Rebecca Bytheway has been recognised for her hard work and dedication after being named Beauty Therapy Student of the Year at Kidderminster College.

Rebecca joined the Level 3 Beauty Therapy course in September 2025 after making the decision to leave her career in childcare and pursue her passion for the beauty industry. From the very start, she demonstrated a strong commitment to her studies, consistently showing enthusiasm, professionalism and a willingness to learn.

Throughout her time at college, Rebecca regularly received excellent feedback from clients during practical sessions. She developed her skills in a range of treatments, including body massage and facials, and quickly grew in confidence despite having no previous experience in the industry.

A key part of Rebecca's journey was her work placement at Hoar Cross Hall, where she gained experience across a variety of roles within a luxury spa environment. Alongside carrying out treatments, she also supported spa hosting, retail and office duties, giving her a valuable insight into how a busy spa operates behind the scenes.

During her placement, Rebecca successfully completed an interview and trade test, leading to a job opportunity and providing a huge boost to her confidence.

Following her success on placement, Rebecca has now secured a position at The Malvern Spa, where she recently began her new role.

Beauty lecturer Kim said: "Rebecca has been a pleasure to teach. She has worked incredibly hard throughout the course, embraced every opportunity available to her and developed into a confident and skilled beauty therapist. We are all very proud of what she has achieved and look forward to seeing her continue to succeed in her career."

Rebecca's achievements were also recognised when she was named Beauty Therapy Student of the Year, an award that reflects her commitment, positive attitude and outstanding progress throughout her time at college.
