This qualification enables learners to develop knowledge and understanding of caring for individuals with dementia.

How often does this course run?

This course will run for one evening a week

Entry requirements:

Achievement of a Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification is recommended

What will I achieve?

On completion of the course you will receive a Level 3 Cert in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care

What will I learn?

The objectives of this qualification are to enable learners to understand:

Types of dementia and the importance of early diagnosis
Person-centred approaches in dementia care
The role of communication, interaction and inclusion in dementia care and support
The use of medication to support individuals with dementia
