The course starts in September

• Grade 3/D in English
• Or Level 2 English qualification

If you have not achieved these, we will decide upon your suitability with an assessment during the application process.

GCSE in English Language

Reading skills: You will study and analyse a range of 19^th non-fiction and contemporary texts such as:  articles, instructional texts, reviews, speeches, reference book extracts, autobiographies, biographies and memoirs.

Writing skills: You will explore forms of writing such as letters, articles, reports, speeches, reviews, blogs and emails developing your transactional writing skills. In addition, you will explore and develop imaginative writing skills.

Speaking & Listening skills: Develop your confidence and skills in presenting information and listening, and responding to the views of others.

Classroom sessions, with access to our VLE, practice papers and digital resources to use outside of these sessions.

Informal and formal assessments throughout the course to check on your progress. 3 GCSE exams during May/June.
