More about the course

This is a qualification that equips you with practical mathematical skills that you can use for study, daily life and work. It is an employer/training/college recognised qualification allowing you to apply mathematical knowledge in real world contexts. For example developing confidence in problem solving, calculations and interpreting data.

How often does this course run?

Every Thursday evening.

Daytime classes may also be available.

Entry requirements:

You will be assessed when you apply for the suitability of the course.

Many of our students pass Level 1 Functional Skills first and then go on to study Level 2 Functional Skills.

What will I achieve?

Level 2 Functional Skills Maths. This is a employer/training/college recoqnised maths qualification as an alternative to GCSE.

What will I learn?

The course covers a wide range of mathematical areas including: numbers e.g. fractions, decimals and percentages, shape, space and measures, handling information and data.

How is the course taught?

The course is taught face to face once a week with one of our supportive, friendly maths specialists. Digital and paper resources will be available to help you study independently.

How am I assessed?

There are mock assessments throughout the year to build your confidence and you will be entered for the exam when you are ready.
