Award in Preparing to Work in Schools - Level 1

This course runs once a week for 3 hours. Days and times to be confirmed, closer to the time of the course starting.

Learners do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a NCFE CACHE Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools.

The course consists of three mandatory units, and together they provide a solid introduction to working in a school environment.

• Understand Schools as Organisations
• Understand How to Keep Children and Young People Healthy, Safe and Well
• Understand How to Communicate with Children, Young People and Adults

The course is delivered face to face in a classroom environment on Thursday evenings during term time, running for 3 hours each week over a period of 10 weeks. During these sessions, learners attend tutor‑led lessons, participate in group activities, and work through course materials together.

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.
