This Beauty Therapy Massage - Level 3 course has been designed to prepare you to enter the beauty sector as a whole, rather than focusing on one specific area within the industry. You'll be covering a diverse range of modules, skills and background knowledge, thoroughly preparing you to enter the world of beauty therapy!

This intensive work-ready qualification will allow you to advance your existing skill set, expand your industry knowledge and allow you to work at a higher level!

No matter your goal, this diploma will provide many technical skills to help you find your place within the beauty industry, including an excellent knowledge of massage and modern electrical treatments, intensive study of the science behind beauty treatments and practical training on running and managing a successful salon.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and maths
Completion of the Beauty Therapy - Level 2 course or equivalent

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a VTCT NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Massage.

This course is run for 16 hours per week, spread across three days.

Classes generally run between 9am-5pm but may vary.

You will be working under supervision at Kidderminster College's on-site salon, Elements, delivering services to colleagues, staff and members of the public.

Work experience opportunities

You will be working under supervision at Kidderminster College’s on-site salon, Elements, delivering services to colleagues, staff and members of the public. We will organise a one-week work placement for you as part of this course, giving you the opportunity to work within another salon environment and develop your skills, experience and confidence.

English and maths

If you are aged 16-18 and you haven't achieved your GCSE grade 4/C in English and maths, you will need to continue studying English and maths alongside your main programme.

English and maths skills are also embedded into your Beauty Therapy - Level 3 course.

You will develop your English skills by learning new terminology as you develop further knowledge of anatomy and physiology. You will also develop your communication skills as you learn how to act professionally.

You will develop your maths skills by learning how to organise your time to carry out treatments in good time.

Tutorial

Tutorial is a program of essential topics affecting you as a potential employee and member of a community. You will cover topics to improve employability skills, mental fitness (both for you and those around you) and much more. It is an essential part of your personal development.

As part of you weekly timetable, you will be expected to take part in Tutorial. This consists of a 1-1 meeting (at least 3 a year) and Personal Development activities that develop you both personally and professionally. Part of the focus is to raise digital Standards and take part in Employer Engagement Activities such as guest speakers, logging Work Experience and in person and online networking.

We work with Student Experience, Careers and your Curriculum team to ensure your Tutorial elements link to your industry area and to create opportunities to develop key skills for profile raising as well as enabling you to create competitive applications and CVs.

Tutorial is also an opportunity to check in with you as part of a group and individually. You can discuss any issues you might be having that affect your learning and essentially identify strategies and support available to you.

Where can I progress?

Upon completion of this course, you can go on to study for a university degree.

Alternatively, you can go straight into employment in the wider beauty industry.

I bring many years of teaching experience and practical expertise to our Beauty Department, with diverse roles in the beauty industry. From salons, spas, and trainers to working in Harley Street, each experience has enriched my understanding of this field. I aim not only to educate but also to inspire future beauty professionals. I aim to fuel a passion for learning, embracing the innovation that propels the beauty industry forward. I strive to create an engaging, stimulating learning atmosphere that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on application. I am dedicated to nurturing a learning environment that bridges academic knowledge with practical beauty industry insights, preparing students for successful careers and adapting to the industry’s ever-evolving landscape.
