This Creative Games Design - Level 3 course will strongly focus on the art and design aspects of 2D and 3D game design and production, helping you to create a robust, durable skillset for you to call upon in the world of work.

You don't need any previous experience designing games to apply for this course, but you'll need a creative mind. You should also be interested in many different genres of games which play on different platforms, as you'll be required to draw upon your own user experience.

We cover all aspects of game development, not just focusing on one area. By considering and dissecting all components of game development, you'll find a genuine appreciation of the different elements that go into the making of a game.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and maths.

You'll get the chance to work on live project briefs set by current industry specialists and work closely with universities.

English and maths

If you're aged 16-18 and haven't achieved a GCSE grade 4/C in English and maths, you'll need to take English and maths classes alongside your programme of study.

English is embedded into your course verbally, through written presentations, written analysis and group discussions. Also, you'll be evaluated during your work presentations, especially on correct spelling and grammar and ensuring the professional layout of your presentations.

Maths is embedded within sessions when working out resolutions, proportions, ratios, percentages and FPS (Frames Per Second). Also, mathematically-presented work will be required throughout this course.
