IGNITE Musical Theatre students put on a performance of a lifetime during their production of Newsies.

The students put their heart and soul into the musical with sold-out shows at Kidderminster College.

The Newsies musical is based on the 1992 Musical film Newsies which was inspired by the real life Newsboys strike of 1899.

Lucy Clark (IGNITE Musical Theatre & Acting Company Director & Course Leader L3 Musical Theatre, Acting & Technical Theatre) said; “This has been a labour of love. Having worked through Covid lockdown’s, cancelled shows and live streamed performances over the last couple of years, this particular group of Level 3 and Level 4 learners deserved to go out with a bang! The quality of show produced is testament to the sheer amount of grit and determination these young performers have when faced with adversity, and with the odds stacked against them, much like the News boys and girls of 1899, they have proved that the seemingly impossible is possible if we all stand united together”.
