At Doddington Lodge Care Home, creating a safe, homely, and uplifting environment for our residents, especially those living with dementia, is at the heart of everything we do. As a proud, family-run care home, we know that the strength of our home lies not only in the care we provide, but also in the people who make it all happen behind the scenes.

That’s why partnering with Kidderminster College to welcome our three Maintenance Apprentices, Connor, Harris & Thomas into the team has been such a rewarding experience. From the very start, our goal was to invest in the next generation, giving young people a hands-on opportunity to develop valuable trade skills while contributing to a meaningful environment. Apprenticeships have allowed us to nurture fresh talent, fill important skills gaps, and support individuals who bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and new ideas into our home.

Throughout this journey, Kidderminster College has been a fantastic partner. From the recruitment process to regular communication and progress reviews, the support we’ve received has been consistent, friendly, and professional. The college truly understands the needs of employers like us, balancing practical, on-the-job training with structured learning that develops confidence and capability.
