Foundation Learners Shine at Summer Fayre in Support of Forest Dog Rescue

Our Foundation learners recently pulled off a fantastic Summer Fayre here at Kidderminster College – and it was all in aid of a great cause: Forest Dog Rescue.

The event wasn’t just about raising money (though they did a brilliant job of that too!). It was part of an assignment designed to help learners build confidence, improve communication, and develop real-world enterprise skills. From planning the day to speaking with local businesses and running the stalls, the students took charge every step of the way.

One of the highlights was the incredible support from the local community. Learners visited local shops to ask for donations, and the response was amazing. Businesses including B&M, Costa, Merchants, Stanley’s Farm Shop and many others got behind the cause. A special shout-out to Natasha, the Manager at B&M, who went out of her way to welcome our learners and help them pick out donations in-store.

The day's atmosphere was brilliant – full of energy, teamwork, and lots of smiles. Staff who supported the project said they were proud to see the learners grow in confidence and come together to make the event such a success.

Foundation Tutor Sharon Haynes said:

“The Summer Fayre’s success is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of our learners. Thank you to everyone involved for making this event so memorable – it was a proud moment for us all.”

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, helped out, or simply came along to show their support. And most of all – well done to our Foundation learners. You smashed it!
