We offer two levels of Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Apprenticeships, offering employers flexibility to attract and develop new recruits as well as developing existing employees. The courses aim to provide apprentices with the skills, knowledge, experience and certification needed to become an integral part of your team.
The Intermediate Apprenticeship is suitable for employers looking to recruit into a supervised teaching assistant role such as a classroom assistant and learning support assistant role.
The Advanced Apprenticeship is ideal for teaching support staff whose role requires competence across a range of responsibilities. The frameworks provide training for the roles of teaching, classroom and learning support assistant,special needs assistant, behaviour support assistant/coordinator; pastoral/welfare assistant, foundation stage assistant, and team leader.
Upon completion apprentices will receive a nationally recognised qualification, and a Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

DURATION

*with an additional 3 months if term time only
DELIVERY METHOD
The qualifications are delivered through weekly classroom taught sessions (term time), assessment in the workplace and self-study.
Functional skills if required.
CONDITIONS
An apprentice must be:
Employed for a minimum of 30 hours.
Paid at least the minimum apprentice wage, currently £3.90 per hour.
Allowed 20% of their contracted hours to be used for Off-the-job Training.
EMPLOYER INCENTIVE PAYMENT
If you employ a 16-18 year old you may be entitled to £1000 government incentive.
