VISUAL ARTS AT KC

Beginning as an Art College 140 years ago, Kidderminster College has gone back to its roots, launching a bespoke Visual Arts qualification for the 2019/2020 curriculum and adding to their already impressive Creative Industries roster.

 

ART & DESIGN COURSE SPEC:-

“This course has been designed to enable the student to explore and develop a range of creative art disciplines through a practical and diagnostic experience.

It will assist students to develop an individual and confident perception of their specialist area of study prior to application to further study at level 3 and degree level. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work publicly when they showcase their final work.

On this course you will get to study across a wide range of art disciplines with an emphasis on utilising electronic and digital techniques that will develop skills and knowledge required to work in this art and design in an ever expanding technological world.

There is also a strong emphasis on developing creativity and the application of a fine art techniques across a wide range of visual approaches.”

FIRST BRIEF

Our fresh intake of Visual Art Students were given a simple brief; to take inspiration from this years 50th anniversary of the moon landings and the renowned artist David Bowie to create a wearable garment. Utilising story boarding, mixed media and a variety of inspirational source material, our Art Students were let loose:-
