Our Year 2 Public Services Learners (and our rogue Naughty Elf) are in the middle of studying Exercise Health and Lifestyle module,in particular they’re looking at the amount of sugar in a variety of drinks.
You will also see that the Naughty Elf Elsie – managed to sneak in and empty some sugar packets all over the place! Where will she go next – be alert!
Programme Leader Paul Tonks said “ Our Public Service students having been examining the sugar within their favourite drinks. They spent the afternoonworking out their daily sugar intake. Unfortunately, recent studies have shown that for their age group Type 2 Diabetes is now a major issue. This is not surprising when certain common drinks contain around 18 teaspoons of sugar in one bottle! Hopefully following today’s sessions some lifestyle changes will be adopted!”
