On Thursday Year 1 Public Services completed their final climbing session of the year and the majority were able to pass their Level 1 National Indoor Climbing Award! Although they had to content with a certain Naughty Elf…
Paul Tonks Programme Leader said “ Thanks to the coaching of the Year 1 Outdoor Sport Course, most Public services students achieved their award. This is above and beyond the requirements needed for their module, so credit to all for their hard work and enthusiasm over the past few weeks. The development of their softer skills in things such as teamwork. Communication and confidence has been particularly pleasing to see.”
One blot, and a real worry, is that the Elsie the Naughty Elf has gained reinforcements with her brother Eddie! The Naughty Elves once again managed to gain entry to the climbing assessment! They continually interfered with the students attempts to complete their assessments and, at one stage, only the skills of the climbers evaded attempts to cut their ropes and send them to the ground.
Please be vigilant as their numbers and mischief knows no boundaries – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
