LETTER FROM ANDY DOBSON, PRINCIPAL OF KIDDERMINSTER COLLEGE
To all our students, parents and guardians,
I hope you are all well in these difficult times.
Since the government announced that the earliest date for any reopening of colleges would be 15th June, we have been giving a lot of thought to what would be best for our students and our college.
For most of our students, remote and online working has proved to be very successful, and almost all students who were due to complete a course this year can now be assessed and receive a grade without the need to come back into college. We will therefore be continuing with the current arrangements for the rest of this term. All results and grades will be determined by the awarding bodies, and we will send them out in August once they are confirmed.
However, for a very small number of students and apprentices, this is not possible as they need to complete some practical training or assessments which cannot be done at home. We will therefore be inviting these students to come into college in small groups from 15th June. You will have been contacted by a tutor if this affects you. For those returning, health and safety will be the highest priority, and we have put in place a range of measures to ensure that they can attend college safely.
We are also working hard to finalise the arrangements for students who will be returning to us, or joining us, in September. I can assure you that we intend to fully deliver all our programmes from September, and to give all our students the best possible experience, whatever restrictions might still be in place. Please look out for further communications about this.
Thank you to all of you, for your continued support, and for the way everyone has responded to the need to change the way we work. I have been hugely impressed by the dedication and creativity of staff and students alike.
As ever, if you have any questions, please contact us via the email@example.com email address.
Stay safe and well!
With very best wishes,
