On Friday 28th September, Kidderminster College took part in The World’s Biggest Coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Hosted by Gaynor in the Care Team, the Care Learners provided an assortment of amazing cakes which were for sale down by reception, there was also a raffle and a Guess The Name of The Dragon game.
Gaynor advised that “The Care learners were enthusiastic and passionate about supporting the MacMillan coffee morning.
Going into careers where they will be caring for individuals it is important that they are aware of integrated systems of support within the community.
From completing the coffee morning learners have benefited by developing skills needed to work in Health and Social Care as well as a deeper sense of community with each other and the wider community.”
Along with MP Mark Garnier, there was a great turn-out. Macmillan work tirelessly to support individuals affected by cancer, giving much needed guidance, day-to-day help, financial advice and an understanding ear to talk to. With such an amazing, individual-based way of working, Macmillan are there for families and patients from the moment of first diagnosis, helping to find best way through such a difficult time.
“The research carried out has enabled my auntie to see her family grow up. For this reason I felt it was my way of supporting this worthy cause”

With cancer touching more people’s lives than ever, Macmillan provide an amazing and much needed service. Kidderminster College are delighted to announce that we raised £307.41 for this amazing charity. These funds will help run a Macmillan information and support centre for the day, helping people affected by cancer find information and support.
