KC Online – Professional Media Production

We utilise media every single day, whether it be on our phone, our tablet, at work…our lives are constantly shaped by media and the content it churns out. As an ever-expanding industry – the UK digital consumer market will be worth £7.7 billion by 2020 – Media, in all its forms, will continue to create even more jobs

Five years ago, few people accessed media via their mobile or downloaded TV boxsets to consume at their leisure.

If you see yourself as the creator of the media everyone is talking about, get your foot in the door on this course. Bring your drive, passion and ambition and start your future here.

Below you’ll find a sample of the resources and tasks that you’ll be asked to use and do throughout your time at KC. Kickstart your time at KC and take a look!

Please look and listen to as many different kinds of film and a good variety of programmes on television channels and radio stations. Here are three suggestions from BBC channels, BBC1 and BBC3.

ONE.

Here is a task we would like our new media students to complete ready for induction in September:

  • Choose any one of the watchable resources and find out as much as you can about where the idea for the programme/series came from and as much as you can about how it was produced, who was involved, where the money came from and what people have said about it.
  • If you like you can choose a different TV or radio programme or film but please make sure it is suitable for 16 year olds and also provide a link or details to the piece you are reviewing.
  • You can keep your notes as a word document or record them as an audio log or create a blog/vlog online that you can share with me.
  • If you want to send your notes to your tutor Felicia Mills,  ready for induction her email is:  fmills@kidderminster.ac.uk

To unravel some of the mystery of software, technical language and processes, here are some links you can browse online ready for September.
