KC’s Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification covers a broad base of skills and knowledge that will introduce you to the core values of employment in a range of health and social care settings. You‘ll also get the opportunity to gain practical skills through work experience placements.

Using the website HEALTHY LIVING– research and find out about how the following factors affect us – think about positive and negative effects and consider the effects on both physical and mental health
A healthy/unhealthy diet
Exercise/lack of exercise
Write up what you find out, ready to use in Unit 9: Healthy Living
After you have watched the careers videos listedand explored and completed the quiz on the SKILLS FOR CARE website:
Make a list of the skills (e.g. effective communication skills)and personal qualities (e.g. patience) you think are needed for someone working in health and social care.
Try and list at least 5 skills and 5 qualities.
Then write about why they are important, giving examples of how they might be used in the jobs you have been looking at in the videos/website.
Once you have done that, think about and make notes on how good you are at each skill and quality and whatyou think you would need to do in order to improve those you are less good at.
