WHAT IS A HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND)?

A Higher National Diploma is an internationally recognised Level 5 vocational qualification alternative to degree level learning. A Higher National Diploma is equivalent to a second year of university and can be converted in o an Honours Degree with additional study at a university.

*You should expect to pay tuition fees for every year in attendance and be aware these fees may increase annually. On the basis of current government guidance any increase is unlikely to exceed the increase in inflation by reference to the Retail Price Index (RPI).

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE A HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA?

FULL TIME –  2 years

PART TIME – 4 years

HOW ARE HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMAS ASSESSED?

Higher National Diplomas are mainly assessed through:

  • Assignments
  • Projects
  • Practical tasks

All of which you complete throughout the course. You’re not usually assessed via exams. However, this can differ dependent upon the subject you choose to study, so always double check the ‘Assessment’ section of your course!

BURSARY INFORMATION

KIDDERMINSTER COLLEGE – NEW STUDENTS – FULL TIME ONLY:-

  • £1000.00 for students from POLAR 1 & 2 postcodes
  • £400.00 for all other students

 

Kidderminster College progression learners: £1000.00

This will be for all years the students study at Kidderminster College

 

An application form for bursaries can be collected from Learner Service, who will be able to advise further.
