Global Recycling Day 2021 17/03/2021

For The Planet...

Today marks the annual #GlobalRecyclingDay, where the world comes together to raise awareness about the desperate need to recycle and reuse in order to keep our planet healthy.

You can’t have missed the hundreds, if not thousands of reports in the media all about global warming, the mountains of waste us humans make, the impact humans are having on the planet and, of course, the effects of climate change. Unless we actively do something now and address the imbalance, who knows what the future is going to hold? It’s all rather scary. But there are things we can do help stop it.

The UK only recycles a small proportion of its rubbish, yet Switzerland, Holland and Germany recycle over half of their waste. We are running out of landfill space, particularly here in the UK. Landfills can be horribly polluting, so given this recycling and composting makes more sense than just throwing things in the garbage.
