If your goal is to work with people in a supportive role, either in a health care setting such as a hospital, a social care setting such as a care home for elderly people or a day centre for people with learning or physical disabilities, then our Health & Social Care Diploma can help you achieve your goal.
This qualification covers a broad base of skills and knowledge that will introduce you to the core values of employment in a range of health and social care settings. You'll also get the opportunity to gain practical skills through work experience placements.

This course can be used as a stepping stone towards the KC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care from where you can go to university to study subjects such as:
You can also progress to a job in health and social care, for example, as a domiciliary care worker or as an assistant in a residential care home for elderly people or individuals with physical/learning disabilities.
The course can take you onto an apprenticeship in health and social care.
On completion of this qualification, you will be awarded a Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.
This practical based course will be delivered through:-
Once your DBS form has been returned, you will attend placement 1 day each week in order to complete 100 hours over the year. The college will find your placement for you and you will be visited by a member of the health and social care team to ensure you are settled in well and to assess your progress.
Work placement is an integral part of the course, therefore completion of placement hours is mandatory.
Placements you might attend include residential care homes for elderly people, day centres for either elderly people or individuals with additional needs and care homes for people with learning/physical disabilities.
You will complete a range of assignments, including skills assessed at work placement and evidenced by your placement supervisor.
You will also take 2 exams.

You will need to pay approximately £50.00 for your DBS application and between £25.00 - £50.00 for your uniform.
You will be required to wear a uniform consisting of a polo shirt and sweatshirt. You will be able to wear your own trousers/skirt and shoes.
