Our Level 2 Diploma covers the essential design and development elements required to produce a 2D game. You'll look at designing levels and adding sound into your game. Background knowledge will be gained by studying how development companies and games design elements are used within this growing industry.
Key focus will be placed on story and character development for games and you will be tasked with developing a comic to show a section of your game design story.
You'll be expected to design and think creatively on this course, so you'll need to have a passion for this! Drawing skills are not essential but we'd expect you to work on these skills throughout the year so that you are comfortable at presenting your ideas in a visual way. This course will enable you to gain
a solid understanding of how the games development sector works, coaching and supporting you so that you're able to unlock your potential!

At the end of the 1 year programme, you will achieve an OCR Cambridge Technical Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media (Games Design). This is equivalent to 4 GCSE'S grade A-C depending on your final grade.

Classes generally run between 9am-5pm but may vary.
Timetables will be given to all students during enrolment and induction week.
We have an in-house games studio, Visual Dynamic Studios, where there will be opportunities to work with local businesses.
Assessments for this Level 2 Diploma will be after each unit and via:
You will be awarded a Pass/Merit or Distinction for each completed unit. Once all units are complete, you will receive an overall grade for the course.
