KC's Level 3 Animal Care Diploma will have you learning how to carry out animal health checks, wildlife conservation skills and genetics, to business management and customer service, equipping you with an extensive knowledge to either progress on to University or begin a higher role within the animal care industry.

The first year of this course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge to enable you to recognise the signs of good and ill health in animals, to carry out animal health checks and to produce animal health plans.
There will be a clear focus on food type nutritional values and the ability to calculate the dietary requirements for animals at different stages of their life. You'll investigate the uses of animals in human society alongside welfare issues. The exotic animal health and well-being part of the course considers the implications of reproduction, handling, restraint and nutrition in terms of species conservation.

At the end of this two year course you will achieve an Animal Management Technical Extended Qualification Level 3
This combined two year course is the equivalent to three A-Levels.
Tackling both practical work and academic theory, you will divide your time between Kidderminster College main campus (1 day a week) and West Midland Safari Park (3 days a week)
Mucking out the animals is still a thing, there's no escaping it!
A minimum of 18 hours will be spent each week studying for this course.
Assessment for this Level 3 Diploma will revolve around both portfolio work and exams.
