Carpentry & Joinery Level 3

The Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery is designed for learners progressing from the Level 2 Course and for those who have decided to pursue a career as site carpenters.

The course consists of both practical and theoretical elements needed for working in the construction industry. Practical activities and assessment typically cover the fitting of stairs, kitchens, roofs, skirting, door frames, doors, complex mouldings, flooring and ironmongery, coupled with geometry based practical activities.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    To apply for this course you will need a Diploma in Wood Occupations Level 2, and be genuinely interested in the carpentry industry. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Upon successful completion of the programme you can advance to higher education study, an apprenticeship, or by gaining employment within the carpentry and joinery industry.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Level 3 Site Carpentry.

  • How will this course be delivered?

    The course is delivered over three days in both classroom and workshop. Practical work is carried out in a workshop environment. Theory will be delivery to bolster practical activities and will allow you to work in a healthy and safe position within the industry

  • How will I be assessed?

    You will complete the units identified through formal assessment consisting of both on-line and paper based exams. All practical work will be assessed and graded by staff delivering the practical elements to the standards set by the awarding body
