At the end of this one year study period you will achieve Salon Management Diploma Level 4
Lectures will be a mix of theoretical and practical work
You will be taught through presentations, practical demonstrations, independent work, 1:1 support, tutorials and group critiques.
This study programme will be taught over 16 hours, which will be 3 days per week. Additionally, your work placement will be carried out for one day a week, for ten weeks alongside your timetable.
Classes generally run between 9am-5pm but may vary.
Timetables will be given to all students during enrolment and induction week.
An essential work placement will be incorporated as part of this course, this will run for one complete week within your study time and will be organised by Kidderminster College.
A work placement is essential in the hair industry, allowing you to experience what it is truly like to be 'on the job', to learn from your colleagues and to perfect your skill and confidence.
You will also be working under supervision within our awarding-winning Elements salon which is on-site at our main Kidderminster College campus.
Work placements and work experience at Kidderminster College is designed so that you are able to build both your confidence and skills to that you will be able to work effortlessly within the industry.
You will get a chance to enter external competitions and really show-off your skills in both a regional and national setting.
