At the end of this two-year qualification, you'll gain a solid understanding of the skills and demands required for a career in public services, learning about a range of subjects such as leadership, coaching skills, understanding collaboration between services and drill, all of which are essential components for a career in the public sector.
You'll have the opportunity to take part in activities which will enhance your understanding of a career in the industry; for example, opportunities to go on residential visits to develop teamwork and leadership skills and meet a range of guest speakers from the Army, Navy and the Police and participating in recruitment events. We will provide you with an understanding of the personal commitment and fitness requirements needed to be employed in a uniformed service role.
This qualification will provide you with a solid foundation to see you step up and achieve your dream career and allow you to progress to employment or further study and towards the entry qualifications and requirements of a specific uniformed service.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 NCFE Diploma in Uniformed Services.
This study programme will be taught over 12 hours over three to four days and will be delivered at Kidderminster College Main Campus and a number of sporting facilities within the local area.

Work experience opportunities:
You will be required to complete a work experience placement as part of the volunteering unit of the course, this placement will be over 30 hours and will be related to the uniformed service industry. You will be able to choose this placement yourself so you can get experience in something that you are interested in for a future career.
There will be a variety of activities including team building at Shrewsbury Prison, visits to military bases to learn about hierarchy and routine in the different services and fundraising for charity.
There will be a range of guest speakers from relevant uniformed services to give learners an insight into their potential chosen career.
English and Maths:
English will be included in learning new terminology and being able to communicate with a range of people.
Maths will be included in learning calculations for administering medications.
All Uniformed Services students will need:
Upon completion of this course, you can go on to study for a university degree, or you can apply to the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship or another apprenticeship of your choice. You can also apply to the Military or Fire service for full time roles.
