Music Performance and Production HNC/HND

The Music Performance and Production HNC/HND is aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. The highly practical nature of the course will appeal to students wanting to improve their vocational skills, giving ample room for specialisation while retaining the broader contextual knowledge needed to interface with the wider music industry. As such the course contains both performance and production elements delivered by lecturers who are themselves accomplished music industry practitioners. This is all aimed to give students the confidence and ability to produce and market their creative work at a professional standard.

As part of our work ready guarantee you will have the opportunity to embed a range of employability-related knowledge and skills specific to careers within the music industry. These are embedded throughout the units in the qualification, and include core digital music production skills, performance training to professional standards, working as a team, transferrable digital media skills in line with local and national needs.

Work experience is fundamental in the development of effective professional practice, learning and progression in this sector, therefore real-world work opportunities are given throughout the course such as public performance in shows and the production, release and promotion of original material. To support this, students will be required to produce a professional portfolio to showcase their best work, which will act as a music industry calling card for their skills.
