Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair Diploma – Level 1

Our entry level qualification is designed to give you an understanding of the essential components of motorbike maintenance and upkeep. You'll learn about the internal engine systems, practice routine maintenance and get to grips with repairing and replacing electrical units and components.

This course is an essential step if you're looking at getting your foot in the door in the motorbike world!

  • What will be studied

    Over the study period, you will cover:-

    • Support for job roles in the automotive environment
    • Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
    • Routine motorcycle maintenance
    • Motorcycle internal engine systems
    • Removing and replacing motorcycle electrical units and components
    • Motorcycle preparation and inspection
  • What are the entry requirements?

    There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however you will need:-

    • To provide a suitable reference
    • Be practically minded
    • Have a passion for mechanics
    • Have a strong work ethic
  • Where does this course lead to?

    This qualification forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Motorcycle). When an apprentice has achieved a L2 Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm base such as a Motorcycle Technician, Development Technician
