Motor Vehicle Transport Maintenance Diploma – Level 2

Building on the skills you acquired during Level 1 of this Diploma, this qualification now aims to push you further, you'll be looking at various systems within a motor vehicle and how they interact and relate to each other. Alongside the practical elements of this course, you will take a more theoretical approach to understanding the workings of vehicles and home your skills at simple diagnostics on mechanical systems.

Whilst studying this course, you'll work on regular road cars to build fundamental knowledge which will help you become an expert in this industry. Our Vocational Skills Centre provides state of the art facilities for you to carry out a variety of repairs and get involved in exciting fabrication projects.

  • What will be studied

    On this course, you will study:-

    • Advanced health and safety
    • Utilisation of tools and equipment of the trade
    • Chassis maintenance
    • Pivotal engine care techniques
    • The use and importance of lubricants
    • Maintaining braking systems and suspension
  • What are the entry requirements?

    In order to qaulify for this course, you will need:-

    • 4 x GCSE's at grade 3 (formerly D) or above, including Maths and English
    • Completion of our Level 1 Diploma
