If you have a passion for motor vehicles, motorsport, and spend many hours under a bonnet, then a course in the motor industry is for you! Studying in one of the state-of-the-art and fully equipped workshops, you'll develop a thorough understanding of motor vehicle technology and electronics through practical, hands-on tasks, tuition and working on vehicle repair, servicing, mechanics, and electrical elements.
This course starts the building blocks towards a career in the motor trade. In our workshops, you will learn to remove and refit various components safely, and to be able to use tools correctly. In our classrooms, you will learn how the various components work. You will also study the motor trade and how it all work together. We will also look at existing and emerging technologies and how they will affect the future car.
There are no formal requirements for entry onto this course.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 1 Motor Vehicle Transport Maintenance Diploma.
Work experience opportunities:
During the year you will have the opportunity to go to different garages and workshops to have an insight into the daily running of a workshops.
English and Maths:
English will be embedded so you can understand the terminology required for this course and Maths will be embedded so you can have a better understanding of items such as sizes of sockets and spanners required complete tasks on the vehicle.
