IT Digital Technicians Diploma – Level 2

Today, every business, school, college and household rely heavily upon computers, IT and the internet to function, make money and run smoothly. And if you have a knack for technology, why not become a much sought-after IT Technician?  

This #TeamKC Level 2 Diploma focuses on the practical aspects of the IT Industry. Over the course of the academic year, you'll be learning how to install computer hardware, set up networks and customise software. You'll also cover the ins, the outs and the critical thinking and problem-solving required to take on an IT support role in a company, business or institution.  

This qualification has been designed to provide a strong background knowledge of Information Technology, setting you on a career path to become an IT Technician. 

During this course there will be enrichment oppertunites avaliable where you'll be able to work alongside the KC IT Technicians, giving some some amazing, hands-on experience!

  • What are the entry requirements?

    In order to gain a place on this course, you will need:-

    • 4 x GCSE's at grade 3 (formerly D) or above, including Maths and English
    • An understanding of computers
    • A passion for technology

    Classes generally run between 9am-5pm but may vary.

    Timetables will be given to all students during enrolment and induction week

    Assessments for this Level 2 qualification will be after each unit and via:

    • Practical assignments
    • Course work
    • Presentations
    • Class work

    You will be awarded a Pass/Merit or Distinction for each completed Unit. Once all units are complete, you will receive an overall grade for the course.

  • WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

    After you've completed KC's IT Digital Technicians Level 2 Diploma and attained a merit or above, you can move on to:

    • KC Computing and App Development Level 3
    • KC Games Design and Development Level 3
    • Apprenticeship (e.g. digital marketer)
