Following on from your Level 1 Diploma, this qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge to work competently as a hairdresser in a professional environment. This job ready diploma is based on the National Occupational Standards and ensures that the essential techniques, presentation and people skills required to excel within a hairdressing career become second nature to all participants.
KC's VTCT Level 2 qualification will see you covering and implementing salon health and safety, how to advise and consult with clientele, the importance of presenting a positive image, changing hair colour, technical hair and scalp conditioning, essential basic hair cutting techniques and practices, styling and finishing…the list is endless.
You'll take part in both regional and national external competitions, as well as curate an extensive portfolio of your work to take with you as your career progresses. This intensive course will leave you with the knowledge and confidence to flourish within the hair industry and make a lasting name for yourself.
This Level 2 Diploma covers all aspects of working in a unisex hairdressing salon, modules will include:-

Completion of this course will allow hairdressers to become eligible to become a State Registered Graduate Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hairdressing Council.
You will also be able to continue on to study
At the end of this one year study period you will gain a Hairdressing Diploma Level 2 qualification
Lectures will be a mix of theoretical and practical work
You will be taught through presentations, practical demonstrations, independent work, 1:1 support, tutorials and group critiques.
As with Level 1 of this qualification, a work placement of a minimum of 60 hours will be completed as part of this qualification which will be arranged by the college. A work placement is essential in the hair industry, allowing you to experience what it is truly like to be 'on the job', to learn from your colleagues and to perfect your skill and confidence.
You will also be working under supervision within our awarding-winning Elements salon which is on-site at our main Kidderminster College campus.
Work placements and work experience at Kidderminster College is designed so that you are able to build both your confidence and skills to that you will be able to work effortlessly within the industry.
