KC's entry level Equine Care Diploma introduces you to the basics of horse care. It's a great steppingstone for people who are keen to work with horses, but don't have previous experience.
You'll spend one day a week at Bank Farm Equestrian and carry out theoretical classes at college Main Campus
Our expert staff will help you learn skills in handling horses, grooming and general horse care. There'll also be opportunities to learn about stable management, go on off-site trips and take part in riding lessons.
If you want to start a career with horses, then this course is the perfect start for you!
The college can offer external professional connections who provide placements for work experience alongside completing the course to gain additional industry experience.
About Bank Farm Equestrian:
Here at Bank Farm we always have between 22 and 32 horses of all different sizes and varieties from ponies to hunters thoroughbreds and cobs. Our facilities include an American barn style yard with tack rooms and solarium. Outside we have a 4 horse Walker and a flood lit ménage making it usable throughout the day and night. The covered viewing area makes observing lessons all the more enjoyable. Our XC corse, open from April to October spans across four fields. We have direct access into the Wyre forest where we enjoy hacking.
This course gives you the opportunity to gain detailed academic knowledge and an- in - depth understanding of horse management and equitation through theory- based and practical sessions.
You will be involved in the care and wellbeing of the horses through general yard duties which will develop the practical skills necessary to gain employments within the equine industry.
