If you aspire to become a professional dancer, choreographer, or teacher then this is the perfect launch pad for you!
This intensive Level 2 qualification with our Ignite Dance Centre is designed to provide you with the right skills needed to progress onto our highly successful Level 3 Dance course. The course will provide you with training in Ballet, Contemporary, Urban, Choreography, Jazz, and Tap.
During your studies, you will work alongside our expert staff, who are outstanding practitioners who still perform professionally within the industry.
We have a reputation for developing outstanding dancers and enhancing all our dancer's ability to reach their highest potential through vocational training. This allows you to progress onto further training at the UK's most prestigious conservatories.
Mandatory training/ preparations:
Once we have received your application you will then be invited to an audition where you will complete classes in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. You will also need to perform a short solo which best showcases your talents.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a UAL diploma in Performing Arts: Dance.
You could be dancing for up to 20 hours per week. Our learner's study three intensive days a week from 9am - 4.15pm at Ignite Dance Centre for advanced dance training. We are based at Kidderminster College and have three specialised dance studios and an in-house theatre.
Work experience opportunities:
You will have many opportunities to gain work experience within the industry. This is done through performing within our own and other theatres across the Midlands. You will also participate in regular trips to theatres to watch live performances and opportunities throughout the year to get involved with working as a paid extra!
English and Maths:
Your course will help you build on your English and Maths skills in a practical setting. All Ignite students will participate in activities that require these skills throughout their two years of training; through submitting written documentation to support practical assessments and working in industry-grade theatre and production arts workshops.
We have a set uniform and kit list required for your daily activities of study and assessments. Upon success of obtaining a place on the course, you will receive all the relevant information needed.
