The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is a vocational qualification that has been designed to develop a limited number of barbering skills to a high level of occupational ability and will prepare you to enter the men's hairdressing sector.
This qualification includes units to prepare you to work effectively as a junior barber including: Client consultation for hair services, cutting men's hair, cutting facial hair and following health and safety in the salon.
The qualification will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to advise and consult with men on the type of haircut and facial shaping. Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety whilst working in the barbering industry.
Course content will include practical and theory units:
Cut facial hair
Entry onto this qualification can be via previous achievement of a level 2 qualification in women's hairdressing and/or a successful skills tests an interview
Whilst this qualification's primary purpose is to prepare you for employment as a barber you may choose to develop your skill base further by undertaking specialist qualifications:
Level 2 Certificate in Barbering
The course will be delivered over 22 weeks, made up of practical classes and theory classes.
The course is delivered through practical and theory lessons.
You will receive practical demonstrations and theory input to develop your knowledge and understanding and prepare you for assessment and examination
