AAT Foundation Award in Accounting Software – Level 2 – Evening

Build your knowledge of accounting software packages,  take our AAT Foundation Award in Accounting Software course! You will learn a wide range of practical skills, from using accounting software, entering accounting transactions and producing a range of reports.

 This course is suitable for the student who has a basic knowledge of bookkeeping and who is I.T. literate.

  • What will be studied
    • Setting up customer and supplier accounts
    • Setting up general ledger account
    • Inputting opening balances in general ledger accounts
    • Inputting sales and purchase invoices and credit notes
    • Inputting receipts and payments to debtors and suppliers
    • Inputting cash and bank receipts and payments including direct debits and standing orders
    • Making entries to adjust errors
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Producing a variety of reports
  • What are the entry requirements?

     You will need to be I.T. literate and have a basic knowledge of bookeeping.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Students can move on to further study in either:

    • Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping qualification
    • Level 2 Foundation Certificate Accounting qualification
  • What qualifications will be gained?

    AAT Foundation Award in Accounting Software - Level 2

  • How will this course be delivered?

    Lessons will be for 3 hours a week on a Tuesday evening, 6-9pm for a duration of 10 weeks.

    There will be an exam at the end of the course.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Students will sit a 2 hour computer based exam where their knowledge and understanding of the above content will be tested.

    The assessment will then be marked externally by the AAT.

    Feedback and results will be available six weeks after taking the exam.

    Please note: Students will not be enrolled onto this course until they have met an Accounts lecturer.

    Interviews will offered once the application has been received.

  • Other Information:
    • Study is 3 hours per week in college.
    • Tuition fees of £200 are payable to the college. This amount can be paid either in full at the time of enrolment or by instalments.
    • Exam fees are in the region of £66 (subject to confirmation from the AAT) payable at the same time as the tuition fees.
    • AAT student membership fee will be payable within three weeks of starting the course at an approximate total cost of £48.
    • AAT student member's subscription will be 12 months after initial enrolment at an approximate cost of £48
