What course are you currently studying at KC?
I have just completed the 2 year Level 3 Travel & Tourism course with our tutors Irun & Nicole.
Why did you choose to study this course and Kidderminster College in particular?
I chose KC as it was local to me and offered the course I was most interested in. I also felt that when I visited the open evening it was very welcoming and my tutors gave lots of information about the course and what life would be like studying at the college.
What has been your proudest moment or biggest achievement in terms of your education?
My proudest moment was most likely getting a distinction for the first time in one of my assignments. It showed that hard work and time can pay off.
What advice would you give potential students about studying at KC or the Travel and Tourism course?
Study hard and always ask your tutors. Both Irun & Nicole are very knowledgeable about the industry and the course so they are able to use their experience to help you with any assignments
What advice would you give our current students about getting into the travel industry?
Try not to worry about what job you would like to do in the future. The qualification is very flexible and can be beneficial to any job around travel so it’s a great opportunity to complete.
What do you love most about being in the travel and tourism industry?
The thing I love most about the industry is being able to fly with new people every time which keeps the role exciting every time.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been trying to balance work and college together, however, my tutors have been very supportive and flexible which has allowed me to complete my college work alongside progressing my career.
What’s next for you? – We’ve heard you’ve got a job at Jet2.
My next goal is to continue in the travel industry and see what jobs are available and maybe study a foundation degree program for travel and tourism!
