Hi Sarah, tell us what course you studied and your work experience. 

I was at Kidderminster College from 2016 – 2019, I studied Level 2 Childcare and Level 3 Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education. My work experience was in Nurseries (ages 3 months to 5 years) and Schools (reception and year one).

What skills have you gained from the course

• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding and how to notice signs.
• Hands on experience in settings
• Helping with SEN children

Tell us about your progression into employment, and progression within employment

In 2016 I started an apprenticeship with Lilliput Farm Day Nursery for my Level 2. Level 3 was full time college where my settings included Tiny Toez nursery, Stourport Primary and Lickhill primary. I gained a full time job at Tiny Toez at the end of my level 3.

I am proud to have completed both of the courses and gained a world of knowledge of the Early Years and what is involved with working with children. These courses gave me the experience and confidence to gain a full time job in a nursery, which I enjoy immensely.
