Sarah studied the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting teaching and learning in schools and the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist support for supporting teaching and learning in schools. She enrolled on the Level 2 course with very little experience and was volunteering in a local primary school.
Upon completion of her Level 3 diploma she gained employment within the same primary school that she began volunteering with. She also enrolled onto a part time Early Years Foundation Degree course at the Heart of Worcestershire College which is accredited by Worcester University.
During her first term of her Level 2 she volunteered at a local primary school in Kidderminster. In the second term of her level 2 certificate she was offered a part time teaching assistant position at a school in Bromsgrove.
She is currently still employed full time as a teaching assistant in Kidderminster.
Sarah said “Studying at Kidderminster College has given me the desire and drive needed to pursue a career in Early Years teaching. The support, advice and tutoring I received not only helped me to gain valuable qualifications but gave me the confidence to carry on studying in order to one day gain employment as an Early Years teacher”.
