Sam Morgan began his Accountancy Apprenticeship through Kidderminster College and progressed from his Advanced to his Higher Apprenticeship, and is now employed at Tatton Hall Homes as a Finance Assistant.
When Sam had completed his A-Levels, including an Accountancy A-Level, he started an Advanced Accountancy Apprenticeship with a Facility Management Company, before moving on to a Higher Apprenticeship with Tatton Hall Homes.
Sam said: “It was while I was studying my A-Levels at King Edwards V1 College that I researched future career paths. As I was studying A-level Accountancy I attended three day insight into accountancy which confirmed my career path. It was also here I learnt about the Accountancy Apprenticeship route.”
“When I had completed my A-levels I joined a Facility Management Company as an Advanced Accountancy Apprentice. This gave me a professional start in my working life and experience of Sage. I moved employer to gain more experience and a role that would support me through my Higher Apprenticeship and my professional qualifications.”
I assist the Financial Director, a role that is as broad as it sounds. I am getting experience in all aspects of finance within the business and have responsibility for ledgers up to trial balance level.”
John Holder, Financial Director of Tatton Hall Homes said: “Tatton Hall Homes are growing with a turnover of £7 .5 million this year, forecast to increase to £37 million in 5 years. Looking at succession planning we realised we needed to build our middle management team.”
“Sam was an ideal candidate as he had already done an Advanced Apprenticeship which had given him an excellent introduction to the world of work and experience of Sage, he was also ambitious. We were introducing a new system and Sam’s experience was valuable. Sam has progressed to the Higher Apprenticeship in accountancy and we are eager support him to gain his professional qualifications.”
