[CASE STUDY]
Choosing to follow the Apprenticeship route instead of taking a traditional BTEC qualification, Luke was able to learn ‘on the job’, utilising the valuable experience from working within a firm and combining it with skills learned in college;
During my time working in marketing, I’ve been able to break into the football media industry through working for the football team that I’ve grown up supporting – Kidderminster Harriers. Working alongside several current and former Premier League and Football League players, coaches and media personnel has been a fantastic experience, as this has helped combine all of my main passions: football, videography and photography!
Through my apprenticeship and course at Kidderminster College, I’ve amassed knowledge and skills that have helped progress my career in the workplace and also through my own YouTube channel, NLYT, which led me to being achieving over 2.5 million views and 15,000 subscribers. As a a result, I was nominated as a finalist in the ‘Best Non League Content Creator’ category at the 2019 Football Blogging Awards, held at the Etihad Stadium! – Luke Thompson
