During his Level 2 Motor Vehicle course, James took great initiative and asked for the help of our Work Experience team to find a suitable work placement within the local area. Gaining a work placement can give you the extra edge, allowing you to gain on-the-job experience whilst you study and ultimately give you a serious edge when it comes to securing a role once you have completed college.
Our expert team were able to contact a local, family owned garage, GP Auto Services Limited, who were willing to offer a placement.
James and #TeamKC‘s Work Experience Coordinator met with the employer to finalise the arrangements and ensure everyone understood what would be involved; within four weeks of the initial contact, the placement started! Our Team make sure that they are with you through every step of your work placement journey, no question is too big or too small, you will be supported 100% throughout.
James worked at the garage on his timetabled day off college and gained valuable experience in a busy working environment, he was able to see how the skills he was learning during his studies could be applied to his chosen industry, whilst gaining valuable sector experience!
GP Auto Services Limited were over the moon with James and his work ethic; he showed a willingness to learn, asked plenty of questions and had great motivation. In fact, they were so impressed with James that they have agreed to support him on a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship that will start in September 2019!
If you’re interested in gaining a work placement or finding work experience tailored to your course, please contact Tracy, our Work Experience Coordinator, on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
