Hayley Shipton (Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools)

Hayley studied the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Starting off as a voluntary worker. At the end of her course she had found full time employment as a teaching assistant in a a primary school.

Hayley said “I have gained invaluable skills and knowledge in all areas of teaching and learning in schools, from schools as organisations to safeguarding, behavioural management, health and safety, promoting inclusion and diversity, supporting children’s development including children with SEND and supporting assessment.  Have also had the opportunity to plan, deliver and evaluate lessons, including whole class teaching. The course has led to me gaining full time employment as a Teaching Assistant in a wonderful school. The level 3 diploma has been quite an intense but invaluable course in which I have learnt really useful information and skills to help me perform as an effective teaching assistant.  It has also given me the confidence to lead classroom lessons and has resulted in me being employed in a role which I really love”.
